There are many means of transport as we all know. Suppose you're an experienced traveler, you can set an arriving flight. The airport is an ideal place to begin, and can save a bit 'headaches, money and improve transport safety experts is waiting at the main bar, like hungry sharks.

Get through the first point of immigration, you have the suitcases in hand, running shoes, a bit jet 'behind, this will help.

go right from the front, after the sign SkyTrain, the first safeand cost effective way directly to Bangkok, and without traffic problems. It plans to open 100% in August 2010.

In accordance with Sky Train to go near the center of Bangkok Sukumvit. You can get almost anywhere you want.

We recommend the Google Map above. Find your destination, hotel or other place. Plot a course, and watch the Sky-train station next destination. You can request by e-mail your hotel in advance, the right questions,Go away, almost a seasoned expert at this point, and a survivor.

Third cabs are everywhere. It starts at 35 baht / $ 1 for about 5 minutes or 2 miles. Sometimes you just take a nice air conditioned break. We ask, in Thai-Ba-Ni ", what, where will you go means. The best hotels have a name, or a card with a map on the back.

Inner City fourth trip. My favorite is the Sky train, over the years built in 2000. The upper level, not justaround the economic capital, but good for the budget, as above $ 1.50 dollars, or 50 baht. They are not only for the city and the traffic, you get a bit 'of a look and take note of tall buildings, help posture, especially for next time.

Fifth Even within the city, you can use a three-wheeled tuk-tuk. Now I'm not cheap, starting at 40 baht, but you have this experience once in Bangkok, the night is the best, much cooler, a short path is recommended.

General SecurityReviews, passports are worth gold, there are serious people on Pick Pocket crowded malls. Be smart. gold chain and a beautiful voice plug and go, easy to change baht, just use your common sense. The food is great, everywhere we go is the food. The best is the wide range of travel costs from pensions simple five-star hotel is located everywhere. You can travel very convenient for those on a tight budget. You can save money by buying a camera in Bangkok?

Thailand was known as a destination for cheap and exotic vacations, but you can save money if you buy a digital camera while on vacation somewhere like Bangkok?

We get a series of emails from readers asking us to provide them with information about the price of some cameras. These tend to point and shoot cameras like the likes of Nikon and Canon, but there are some who are looking for more high-end professional cameras and semi-professional.

Thewhat they have in common is that they come to beaches in Thailand and a bit 'of shopping in Bangkok, before going to, and want to buy a camera, I think probably save some money.

Thailand has a top rate of 7% VAT, so you can start comparing that to your country, the VAT. You can "save money just to be there, even if the rate before tax is the same. But there is a high tariff on goods imported and is veryoften the prices of many products and do not reflect different cameras.

We have done much research on this issue and find that varies depending on the exchange rate. One day, we can save and a few weeks later, it is more convenient.

However, you can save if you use the value added at the airport and this could mean frustrating not buy the product before leaving the country and use these as they will leave.

You probably want some examples in thisThe point, and we are happy to oblige with two examples. One is a point and shoot camera and the other a semi-professional digital SLR.

For point and shoot, we randomly selected the Canon Digital IXUS 980 IS because it looks so beautiful and Canon are the market leader in Point & Shoot digital cameras.
For the Semi-Pro digital SLR, the Nikon D300, we have seen (body only), because we want first, and spend every waking hour, we elect realistically afford.

For theThe prices, we chose two sites in Thailand for the price and then found these prices to those on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk

Point and shoot - Canon Digital IXUS 980 IS

Thai Prices:

Website 1:
fotofile.net -
15 900 Thai Baht to VAT
14 787 Thai baht, excluding VAT

Website 2:
tohome.com -
14 990 Thai Baht to VAT
13 941 Thai baht, excluding VAT

Price:
Amazon.com -
$ 310 (10,635 Thai Baht)

The camera is known as: Canon Powershot SD990IS

UK Price:
Amazon.co.uk -
£ 290 (15,715 Thai Baht)

Semi-Pro D-SLR - Nikon D300 (body only)

Website 1:
fotofile.net -
53 800 Thai Baht to VAT
50 034 Thai baht, excluding VAT

Website 2:
No site available comparison

Price:
adorama.com -
$ 1,697 (57,790 Thai Baht)

UK Price:
amazon.co.uk
£ 1,099 (59,510 ThaiBaht)

From the results above, we can see that if you arrive from the UK, small savings to the point and shoot, but very significant savings (about 200 British pounds) can be made on Semi-Pro, provided that the VAT law can be shown to leave the country.

However, if you come from the United States, it is cheaper to buy the point and shoot at home, rather than retrieved from Thailand, but the camera Semi-Pro is also cheaper, with and without VAT.

All this isfactors very interesting if the price is concerned, but also others to consider as the guarantee of honesty and you can take to be demolished for purchases in Thailand, especially when it was delivered to the legitimacy of the battery or the content in the field .

We business in Thailand for a digital photo?

We live in Thailand and have little choice but when we go to Singapore or Hong Kong, there would probably wait and go shopping instead, ascheaper than those places in Thailand. Apart from this, but we are not so in Thailand, like most shops ripped the camera, concerned mainly dedicated camera shops and department stores are reliable and honest.

Bangkok Culture

Bangkok culture dates back many centuries, have said that excavations in the area north of Nakorn showing Ratchasima, there were people living here over 4000 years. Monarchy played an important role in the Middle Ages. But now Thailand has a rich attack of democracy with its constitution.

The Bangkokians are a warm and welcoming group of people, mostly too polite to show crime. But as with any nation, there are limits to behavior, and mustshould not be exceeded. I am very proud of their monarchy. Visitors are well informed, the awe in which Bangkokians dedicated to keep the royal family be respected. The Buddhist religion is as sacred Bangkokians. The monks, temples and Buddha images are everywhere, and many people treat them with great respect. It is expected that appropriate clothing be worn in temples and take off your shoes when entering certain parts of the temples.

Bangkokians for the maintenance ofArea of peace and harmony is essential. The loss of anger, discuss, or to avoid direct criticism of each other better, because I think there is little point in any case. The famous Wai is used as a gesture of both greeting and respect. Wai requires the person using both hands as if in prayer before his face. In general, is to try as a sign of respect to keep his head on a level below that of a senior or elderly people when it comes to pass. If you enter aRoom or private house, it is customary to take shoes. The polite form of address to talk, or how people with similar age or more, the title "Khun" and the name of the person.

Many Bangkokians are too polite for that disrespectful behavior is a boy Bangkokians comment, but you should be aware that there is still offensive. Looks and appearances are important to Bangkokians. His meeting, elegant dress, or at least adequately reflects theLevel of respect held for them.

Fried fish or snake in Bangkok I'm Gonna Get That Sucka!

I always said that Bangkok is wonderfully funny and both of them. Just when I thought I could say I saw all this happening. I know this might not be too mad to Bangkok, but I really disgusted.

You know the snake aka Snake Fish Fish and fish-Dragon?

The Thai people love it, that eating fish, roasted in his belly, still widespread, her mouth stuffed with lemon grass and salt then served with a delicious sauce.

Thisavailable, only a few selected areas, and never in a real restaurant. It is considered the street are eating. You can go around Central World Plaza at floating market, as Taling Chan district at night and in small markets as rank Nam.

I was at a street stall residential community classified Nam, when I heard this strong Queuing crash. I see through the salt spray and grill on the hunt for a bloody, cook salt fish with a stick in their twistedMouth slipped on the sidewalk! My hypothesis is that this particular fried fish was not intended. I had learned that the hot grill flop white, salt, coal and attracts other fish (thankfully roasting) on the ground and then made a dash for the puddle in the street. The chef finally started and threw it back in half bucket full of clothes other fish. Washing did not even true.

If this does not turn your stomach to this:

The cook then tooka rack on top, indicating that little to convince three of his friends, took a still writhing, and then the grill and fireplace. They burned to protest and agitate a crowd completely mesmerized. I'm there with my mouth open feel quite sorry for the little guys. If I'm not uncomfortable, I signaled to my party and to the left.

The part that sucks most is that one was my favorite restaurant.

Before you begin to feelI regret to have some shocking details about this great predator. Mind you, these fearless pirates of flooded rice fields can live in water up to a week. Access to farmers and eat everything that moves. They are extremely difficult to kill. Somehow, a pair of lakes in the United States let go of A and the Midwest American athletes are now suffering from this monster. Trout and bass, which are popular in America, so now eaten by these snakes, slimy fish. It has no known predators andpieces bite people. It 's a bit as the piranhas of the East.

I believe that I love the Thais eat. Revenge, served with a piquant sauce.

Frugal Travel Tips for Bangkok, Thailand

In exchange, it is not difficult to find frugal attractions in Bangkok, Thailand. However, there are a few tips to make a dollar stretch and travel even Further better travel experience.

The Grand Palace and Temple of Emerald Buddha

Yes, there is a registration fee (200 baht, about U.S. $ 6), but this show is a must see for every visitor to Bangkok. It hosts a number of Thai architecture.

Temples and othernational monuments have a strict dress code. No shorts, tops, sleeveless dress or a more audacious. This applies to most religious places around the world, but in Thailand, travelers should not wear open sandals (must be a strap behind the heel).

Thai Customs

This leads to some Thai costumes, noted that the savvy travelers.

Shorts are considered appropriate and only for children of lower classes.

The head is considered sacred (the closest to heaven), soDo not touch. In fact, do not try to contact with the locals at all.

The feet are treated with care. To point your feet at a person has exposed a grave insult and extremely rude to sit with soles (especially in places of worship). Sit with your feet hidden under the body.

No public displays of affection. Keep in mind that the privacy of your room.

As in most countries, but particularly in Thailand, not to criticize the local government or monarchy.

This may seem veryof rules, but most applies to almost all countries the traveler is a guest in.
The Thai people are very kind, so difficult to express their disapproval.

Park Chatuchak Weekend Market

This is where travelers buy their souvenirs thrifty. With over 15,000 booths (get a free map to the information terminals), we are spoiled for choice. This is a place to bargain. Never take the first offer. Also be very careful about fakes (fake antiques, fake jewelry, etc.) andPickpockets (keep some 'small bills in an accessible pocket and hide your wallet).

What to buy? Almost everything, especially trade. My mother is an elephant lover and Thailand, compared with the animal, was ideal for carving teak (careful drying and cracking when you return home).

Wat Pho (Temple of the Buddha lying)

With another very, very cheap entrance fee (20 baht), Wat Pho, the largest and oldestBuddhist temple in Bangkok. The highlight, of course, is 46 feet long, covered with gold Buddha lying. But the building and found the orchids were also significant.

Bangkok is a paradise for bargain hunters. Attractions, restaurants and shops is cheap.

train travel in Thailand

Most people are familiar with the River Kwai Death Railway in Thailand as an optional panoramic train journey. However, it is the infamy of the line that this trip is getting worse in the eyes of the visitor. Granted in part and with beautiful scenery spectacular along the River Kwai Noi at the end of the line Namtok, but a small segment of the SRT system and certainly not the only area are found memorable.

The River Kwai separation of services from Thonburi Station with additionalServices from the main station-Hualom Phong during the period November festival. Thonburi Station offers a beautiful view of the river near the Royal Barge scale and an architectural masterpiece with its bell-tower facade.

Whether you have an interest in the railroad or not, trains are still considered an extremely pleasing to the Thai countryside and are also cheap. The train to Nam Tok, at the end of the line Kwai is only 60 baht for one way andWongwian Yai service can still be found in about 20 baht round trip.

For local trains and expresses many of the long distance provider still ply their wares at the various stations along the route and many are already aware of the new Korean cars Sleeper done on most routes. Sleeper fares are still a bargain and cheaper than ever and all first-class carriages, now a shower area at the end of each carriage.

Korean vehicles isLast advanced foreign intervention in the railways with the Japanese Kawasaki units train and British Rail Sprinter "trains with the quality of training in the last 10 years to date. Of course, the whole system was built in Germany but a dream of King Chulalungkorn to connect Bangkok inland to create a united and 'Thai Country "and strengthening the weak links at border crossings. It 'was recently celebrated its centenary operational services overlap with theKorat original public service.

The climb to the Korat Plateau, according to the temple still seen mainly Ayutthaya and Lopburi is another less noticed scenic areas of the system. Here, the road runs along the Khao Yai National Park and offers stunning views of lush slow ascent central plains disappears in the distance from the relatively flat and sterile rice bowl Isaan be replaced.

For tours in scenic mountain of Doi Khun Tan National Park is by far theBest offer. Most travelers see the best, though by its nature an early riser (0600-0700) Sleeper on the Orient Express from Bangkok to Chiang Mai.

The morning light the deep wooded valleys meet in a wide range of colors that is hard to find elsewhere in the region and the area inhabited mainly adds the slow hairpin trundle train up the mountain. The highlight of the trip is the final ascent of Doi Khun Tan Station 2 km through a tunnel, up to thisauthor's opinion, the most beautiful, well maintained station in the UK. Basketed flowers on the platform and green peaks in the background give him a special feeling, especially when seen in the atmosphere of the cool morning air Air Lanna. The tunnel is claimed many lives during the construction first seen more than a century and a commemorative plaque for the workers at the southern entrance. Many argue that the point of Hua Hin, with its Royal waiting room, the more enjoyable (andcertainly the most photographed) away, but Doi Khun Tan, with its inaccessibility, a credit to the people who created it and those who currently man. There is really only visited by the walks in the park and therefore is much less visitors than the version Hua Hin.

Sprinter passenger train service on the day from Bangkok to Chiangmai see the sunrise Doi Khun Tan, in the evening, which can feel almost as rewarding. The service has become popular SprinterSince its introduction, so that all rail passengers of the landscape between the two cities to see the light of day. A similar situation exists with the Sprinter Service Surat Thani to Bangkok, where daylight can travelers to the section of the coast of the South, previously available only missed the night train. Sprinter trains, with their large windows and reclining airline-style seats an easy and inexpensive to makeLandscape. There are traffic jams and you're constantly watching for incoming traffic!

The only criticism of the international express and in fact all trains within the United bunk is the fact that first-class seats have established upper limits of the car.
